Born in France, Alexis Gomez began his violin studies at the age of 5 at the Vivaldi Association in the class of Pascal Berrube and Tamiko Kobayashi. He entered in the Conservatory of Chambéry where he studied under Philippe Tournier. After obtaining the Diplôme d'Études Musicales (Diploma for musical studies), he entered in the Conservatory of Paris (CRR de Paris) in the class of Bertrand Cervera. In 2009, he formed the Quatuor Hestia (piano quartet) with whom he has developed his chamber music skills under the members of the Quatuor Ysaÿe in CRR de Paris for 3 years.
Alexis attended the masterclasses given by the violinists such as Luc-Marie Aguera, Jérôme Akoka, Amaury Coeytaux, Suzanne Gessner, Leonidas Kavakos, Kazimierz Olechowski, Stephan Picard, Marianne Piketty, Christophe Poiget, Gérard Poulet…
As a soloist, Alexis was invited to perform the violin concerto of Saint-Saëns with the orchestra “La Note Retrouvée” in Paris, 2013. He was also invited to perform the violin concerto of Schnittke with the “Ensemble des Possibles” in 2015, and he has performed the double concerto of Brahms with the orchestra of Conservatory of Chambéry in 2017.
Alexis appears regularly in the Orchestre Victor Hugo Franche Comté.
Alexis Gomez plays the violin fabricated by Hieronymus Ⅱ Amati in 1675, generously loaned by the Foundation Culture et Musique.
