Quatuor Akos


The Quatuor Akos was founded in 2015. They benefit Jérôme Akoka's teaching from its very beginning of the creation.

Inspired by the exhibition "L'Archet Révolutionnaire" which was held in London (2015), they started to explore the historical approaching by using the original classical bows.

The quartet has become acquainted with great performers such as Claire Thirion and Pablo Hernan (Quartet Chiaroscuro), Luc-Marie Aguera (Quatuor Ysaÿe) and Yovan Markovitch (Quatuor Danel). They have also performed with Gustav Rivinus, Yoko Kaneko and Yovan Markovitch.

The quartet plays in various concerts in France, and as well in Germany, Bonn and Munich. They have been acclaimed by the journal "Generalanzeiger Bonn" for their concerts in Bonn (March 2017).

Recently, they have won the third prize for the 13th International Mozart Competition in Salzburg, with the "Baërenreiter" prize. In March 2018, they were invited to the "Leonidas Kavakos International Violon and Chamber Music Masterclass 2018".​
